Only two people in Candlestick Park thought there was any chance at this ball being caught for a game-tying touchdown - Montana, and WR Dwight Clark, who both insist they worked on this play over and over in practice! Believe them or not, it happened - as Everson Walls, Michael Downs, and the rest of the Cowboys defense watched helplessly, Clark leaped high in the air, stretched as far as he could, came down with the ball, and landed with two feet just inside the line at the back of the end zone - TOUCHDOWN NINERS! After the extra point was kicked, Bill Walsh's men in red went on to glory in Super Bowl XVI, and the rest is history.
